Sol Family Counseling (SFC) is currently looking to employ throughout California in Los Angeles, San Fernando Valley, Greater Los Angeles. We serve hundreds of children, youth and families annually throughout the Los Angeles County.
Our experienced staff of Psychologists, Social Workers, Mental Health Specialists (including Associate Social Workers and Associate Marriage Family Therapists) provides case management, mental health care and a range of support services in schools, homes or other community settings. Our dedicated teams work collaboratively and in partnership with family members, school administrators and faculty, county social workers, case managers, probation officers and other agencies.
JOB SUMMARY
A part-time licensed (Social Worker, Marriage Family Therapy and Associates) clinician is being sought to join the team of an innovative, trauma-informed, mental health residential center for seriously emotionally disturbed adolescents. This direct service training position provides general casework services, psychotherapy and therapeutic groups/activities to assigned residents and their families/caregivers.
MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Master’s degree in social work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or Ph.D./Psy.D from an accredited college or university is required. Seeking Licensed candidates (ASW, MFTI, and Psychology Post-Doctoral Fellow). LCSW

EXPERIENCE

Ability to relate to children with emotional disturbances and their families
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public
Ability to perform clear and concise documentation
Ability and willingness to assist in agency efforts to improve quality in operations
SPECIALIZED SKILLS
Ability to interact and communicate both verbally and in writing with SED adolescents and their parents, foster parents, caregivers, schools, other staff, physicians, county agencies, other health care and social services providers and the public.
Demonstrated leadership, organization and management skills.
Understanding and knowledge of basic medical and psychiatric terminology as well as psychopharmacology.
Demonstrated ability to visually and audibly assess the mental status and psychosocial needs of seriously emotionally disturbed youth, children and families.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare a comprehensive written psycho-social evaluation and assessment on assigned adolescents, in addition to an intake note, regular progress notes, weekly summary notes and a discharge summary. Other documentation and written reports such as Treatment Plans, Letter of Enrollment, Progress Letters, Day Treatment Intensive weekly notes, Quarterly Report and other court reports will be required within 48 hours.
Mode of transportation required to patient location, or you must coordinate with patient a safe location to meet, including but not limited to the SFC offices.
Provide individual and family psychotherapy to assigned client.
Verbally communicate to residents their legal status and rights under applicable laws; ensures that adolescents acknowledge in writing their understanding of their legal status.Actively lead treatment team meetings; responsible for a coordinated treatment plan for assigned clients.
